In pursuit of our mission, Friends of Saguaro works in a variety of local, regional, and national collaborative partnerships -- advocating public policies that will help protect wildlife and habitat, and preserve native biodiversity.  In southern Arizona, we're supporting the development of a multi-jurisdictional conservation system to link areas of high conservation value critical to the movement of wildlife, while at the same time protecting the unique natural and cultural heritage of Saguaro National Park.

We're pursuing community-based (resource) research partnerships with organizations such as the University of Arizona and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.  We maintain a strong issue advocacy voice through our participation in the 41-member Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection.

The National Park Foundation is the Congressionally-chartered national nonprofit that raises private funds that directly aid, support, and enrich all of America's national park units and their programs.  They've generously supported FOSNP, and our projects at Saguaro -- most recently, by helping to fund the replacement of the outdated interpretive exhibits at the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center.

The National Parks Conservation Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization that works to protect and enhance America's national parks for present and future generations by identifying problems, and generating support to resolve them.  They've been effective advocates for Saguaro -- most recently, by working with Congress to try to develop a consensus on expanding the boundaries of the park.

And, Friends of Saguaro is one of 55 organizations nationwide participating in the National Parks Second Century Action Coalition -- a group led by NPCA that is working to promote the protection, restoration, and operation of the National Park System as it enters its second century of service.
