New 5-Year NextGen Agreement
The Friends application to continue the Next Generation Ranger Corps Internship Program was approved for an additional five years. This highly effective and nationally recognized program helps diverse and passionate local youth develop the skills and experiences required to pursue a career with federal land management agencies. In addition to expanding Saguaro National Park’s capacity to complete research, maintain trails, remove invasive plants, deliver environmental education programs, and provide over one million annual visitors with a first-class experience. This program is developing future leaders at national parks across the country and over one-third of all interns now work for federal land management agencies.
Thank you to the National Park Service for approving our collaborative grant application to continue the Next Generation Ranger Corps Internship Program at Saguaro National Park. This mutually beneficial and transformational program is recruiting, training, and providing a pathway to employment at National Parks across the country. In addition to helping to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable experience for all park visitors. Friends would not have received this collaborative grant without the steadfast support from our donors, volunteers, and community partners. Thank you!
