Friends Receives $20,000 Grant from TEP
This grant will fund the creation of eight educational pollinator gardens at Saguaro National Park; four around the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center (east) and four around the Tucson Mountain District Visitor Center (west).
The gardens will capture water run-off from buildings, sidewalks, and parking lots and demonstrate the importance of water conservation, water harvesting, and native pollinators. They will feature native plants that provide food for pollinators such as hummingbirds and native bees. The gardens will be built by NextGens, volunteers, and community groups that will include interpretative signs to teach park visitors about pollinators and how we can all harvest water in our neighborhoods to green spaces and support native plants.
Thank you to our friends at TEP for supporting this important project!
